Monday's with Mama

I have been asked before how do we handle little kids at the restaurant. I guess that can be a problem for some restaurants, but we are a family restaurant. I love seeing and interacting with little ones. Always have. Tita and Osvaldo were the same and even shared memories of their parents when they were small.

Mom and Dad’s Italian Restaurant was started by Italian immigrants who came to the US looking for a better life. They brought their kids up in the restaurant and they taught them good work ethics and their down time was with family. I felt that closeness when I met Danilo. And my family, although small, was very close and included many extended family members, with whom we always spent time together. So in this way we were the same.

Our kids grew up in the restaurant, as well, and have felt very comfortable in this setting. My daughter always loved being in the front greeting people and taking money and now waits tables and bartends and makes desserts. My son used to bus tables and now he makes the sauces and eggplant and veal in the mornings and expedites at night.

So as you can see, we are truly a family restaurant. We each have grown with the restaurant. Mom and Dad’s in Thomasville has been here for more than 40 years and I have a part of it for 29 of those years.

Since losing our parents, we feel our friends and many of our customers have become our family. So if you are in need of a place to bring your family to feel like you are at home when you are celebrating life’s special moments, this is the place to come. We are always here to serve you and help you make new memories. We would love to share in them with you.
